Procedure
Removal of Foreign bodies and wound care
Removal of foreign bodies from soft tissue
Foreign bodies in the wound may need to be surgically removed at times. This is usually done in theatre together with a washout and debridement of the wound.
Removal of food bolus or foreign bodies from the GIT
Food may sometimes get stuck in the food pipe and require removal via endoscopy (with the scope). Other times, a foreign object may be mistakenly ingested and require surgical removal. This is most often done via endoscopy.
Wound care
Wound care is offered at the practice. Your surgeon will counsel you regarding your particular wound.
